Gerald Shepherd: Avebury – Apotheosis Of A Stone Circle

This work is derived from an aerial photograph of the prehistoric stone circle at Avebury, Wiltshire UK.  The icons are derived from simple shapes mostly found in the scene and spontaneously evolve, although they are shaped to a degree by my responses to all the ideas associated with the landscape.
